Imy is an award-winning theatre director.
Her production ‘BEASTS’ by Mandi Chivasa won a Fringe First Award & ‘Duck’ by maatin won the Charlie Hartill Award.
She was shortlisted for the RTST Sir Peter Hall Award 2025 and is a recipient of the Nicole Kidman Bursary from MGC Futures. She spent a year learning about opera direction thanks to a DYCP grant from Arts Council England.
She was the Mackintosh Resident Assistant Director at Kiln Theatre, with additional assistant and associate directing credits spanning the West End and UK tours. 
Alongside directing, Imy was Artistic Associate at Arcola Theatre, an in-house role working across programming and producing, and Creative Associate at Jermyn Street Theatre (2022–23).
She works as a freelance dramaturg and script reader, with credits including Hampstead Theatre, Kiln Theatre and Arcola Theatre alongside numerous freelance projects. 
She has spoken on industry panels at the V&A Museum - on working with set & costume designers and Pleasance Theatre, and has worked as a guest director at the University of Cambridge and a guest speaker for New York University. 
In 2024, she contributed a chapter to 50 Years of Feminist Theatre: Then and Now (Aurora Metro). She is currently writing her debut play with support from MGC Futures, developed at Kiln Theatre.
She trained on the Drama Directing MA at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
